Blocked Atlantal Nerve Syndrome in Infants and Small Children

In 1953, Cervical Diencephalic Static Syndrome was described by a medical doctor, Dr Guttmann.
This consisted of: Cervical postural muscle involvement found in kids who fell of from a diaper table, delivered via a suction delivery or forceps or have a difficult delivery during birth. Cervical kinesiologic muscle involvement included disturbance of the inhibitory system and ear, nose and throat infections. 100 children were studied and 88 were found to have atlas vertebra laterality. 75 children were studied and all 75 were found to have C1 laterality.

Now Dr Guttman, MD, recommended repeated light tapping on the transverse process of the atlas on the side of laterality! Levitt in 1976, found that C1 fixation in 92 percent of children with chronic tonsillitis. Dr Guttman is probably one of the first medical doctors that propose a form of chiropractic adjustment on a specific bone.
